A Golden will drop everything to spend time with you

I have suffered from broken promises since I was a little girl. Nothing hurts more than someone getting your hopes up only to back out at the last minute. It is hard to trust people when they don’t say what they mean or mean what they say, even if done inadvertainly. Disappointment had become my way of life. I long for companionship as my love language is the gift of spending time. When people make time for me, it speaks volumes of their love and acceptance. I am still reeling from rejection I have suffered before. Golden Retrievers are reliable trustworthy companions in that they are always there when you are wanting to spend time with you sometimes to a fault. Goldens are people dogs. They hate to be left outside. They make poor outdoor dogs. When Goldens are left alone, they get extemely lonely and act out to fill the emptiness. I consider it a compliment when my dog wants to be with me. I love how Goldens will happily greet you letting you know they wish to spend time with you. You become more exciting than what they were doing whether chewing a bone or relaxing. They will not act like they want to see you one minute and snub you the next minute. When a Golden expresses a desire to see you, they really mean it! Goldens do not disappoint!
